The ESCAPE Scholarship fund was originally started in Uganda to provide secondary students the opportunity to continue their education, by providing them with a scholarship to secondary school.  After visiting the Dominican Republic, and seeing how many children were unable to attend even primary school because of poverty, we have decided to open the scholarship program to benefit the children Puerto Plata.

All of the scholarship recipients live in abject poverty, where many of their basic needs are not met. In order to ensure that children are able to stay in school and thrive, they will benefit from a number of services which will be offered at our Youth Center. This will include nutritious meals, tutoring, and a wide range of social services. 

Each ESCAPE Scholarship covers administration fees and tuition, books, school supplies, and a uniform. The cost of a one year school scholarship is $300. 

Our goal for the 2012-2013 school year, is to raise $7,500 to provide 25 children with ESCAPE Scholarships.
